No sound but that of your soul seeking
answers which seem to excel at evasion.
No light but for the spark of your curiosity
refusing to give in to the confines of time,
spurring you on to accept the invitation
of the voices which arrive only in the quiet –
the ones which make every thought rhyme!
No view but that of the fears you have long
been duelling with, trying to somehow win.
No hope but for the dying embers in your spirit
determined to grow into a force invulnerable
to make you rise above failure’s mighty din,
urging you to believe that you shall endure
despite facing numbing loss across the table.
No company but that of the silent night
whispering words of both death and rebirth.
No solace but for the possibilities in your mind
igniting the path to a new chapter in the journey –
one adorned with equal parts glitter and dirt,
enabling you to smile through the trials, and dance
even when your dreams collapse on a gurney!
